We have three guest bedrooms all fully en-suite, centrally heated and attractively decorated to a high standard. Fresh flowers, fresh fruit and other personal touches too numerous to list.

All have remote control colour television, tea and coffee making facilities & mineral water. You will be able to enjoy the luxury of old pine double beds, pretty patchwork quilts, crisp white cotton sheets and fluffy white towels, and fresh flowers to welcome you.

The Ross Bedroom A very spacious room with antique twin beds,and reclining chairs. En-suite with a show over a huge cast iron bath.

The Doward Bedroom
A very attractive room with four-poster bed, antique chairs and window seat. En-suite with bath and shower.

The Monmouth Bedroom
A light airy room with sleigh bed made from re-cycled oak and comfy armchairs and window seat. En-suite with bath and shower.

All the rooms have their original pine shutters with views over the beautiful wooded hill called the ‘Great Doward’.

‘Breakfast like a King at Norton House!’
Served in the beautiful Oak-beamed dining room, breakfast is a feast starting with a buffet of cereals, fresh fruit, dried fruits, yogurts and fruit juices, followed by a choice of the following:

Traditional English ( this will keep you going all day!)
Or Craster Kippers

Vegetarian (complete with home made ‘herby cheese fritters’ or ‘potato cakes’)

Continental ( Large boiled eggs and home made croissants, for those who prefer a lighter option!)

All the above are accompanied by toasted home made or locally baked bread and home made preserves.

For our longer stay guests our extensive Speciality Breakfast Menu is available at no extra cost, except ordering 24 hrs in advance:

Piperade – spicy scrambled egg.
Stuffed tomatoes – Jumbo tomatoes stuffed with a tasty filling & topped with cheese.
Smoked haddock and poached eggs
Eggs baked in tomatoes served on crispy croutons.
Buckwheat pancakes – stuffed with either fish or mushrooms.
Fricassee of eggs
Kedgeree

All of the above can be served with devilled kidneys or bacon rolls.

Our ingredients are either home grown, home made, or sourced locally where ever possible, our sausages are made locally and our bacon is cured by our butcher.
Evening Meals ( if ordered in advance) are served in the dining room by candle light. Cooked to order, and freshly prepared from locally sourced or home grown produce; the meal consists of a main course, and dessert, served with mineral water (guests are welcome to bring along their own wine). Followed by coffee and after dinner mints served in the lounge.

Su does not cook on Saturday or Sunday evenings.
However there are several pubs and restaurants within walking distance or a short drive away – offering a wide choice of menu. (see our local information page.)
