A 5 minute walk away, set on the river bank. The parish church of St Dubricius dates back to 1289. Open everyday, visitors are welcome to enjoy the tranquil setting and beautiful flora and fauna as well as the tulip tree which is reputed to be over 300 years old.

A good walk or a three minute drive to free parking. This nature reserve set atop 'The Doward' hill gives a wealth of flora, fauna and wildlife.

Wye Adventures / Wye Canoes is the place to come to for your Wye Valley Outdoor Experiences, we are based in Symonds Yat West in Herefordshire, run by experienced local instructors / guides we have a passion for what we do and love introducing people to the wonderful Wye Valley with our adventure activities.

We also provide professional One to One Instruction to develop your canoe and kayak skills, plus a range of Courses in Coaching Paddlesport, Bushcraft and Survival, First Aid and Safety & Rescue.

Monmouth Canoe & Activity Centre


We have a large fleet of quality modern canoes and kayaks for hire providing canoeing Trips to enjoy the River Wye and explore the stunning Wye Valley, with Monmouth Canoe Centre you can paddle your canoe up to 100 miles, from Glasbury, Hay-on-Wye, Bredwardine, Hereford, Hoarwithy, Ross-on-Wye, Kerne Bridge at Goodrich, Symonds Yat or Monmouth as far as Tintern or guided, to Chepstow where the Wye meets back up with the River Severn after their birth together in the Welsh mountains.
